Rockin' the Bass Clarinet in 2019

That's my theme for this year, with performances, publications, and recordings of rock inspired works for bass clarinet taking center stage!

First off, a study score and solo part for Concerto in Rock for bass clarinet and band are now available for purchase in my Store, with a set of performance parts available for rent. The Concerto is a 16 minute three movement work based on guitar-style riffs, and featuring guitar pedal processing of the bass clarinet sound. The U.S. Coast Guard Band and I released a recording of the piece. Contact the Band to obtain a free CD or a download card.

Second, I will be premiering a reduction of the Concerto for bass clarinet and rock group at ClarinetFest 2019 in Knoxville, Tennessee. The concert is 10:00 a.m. on July 28. I hope some of you can be there to hear it and take a moment to say "Hi." The reduction for bass clarinet, organ, electric bass, and drums is now available on Sheet Music Plus or send me an email if you are interested in obtaining a copy

Finally, check out the Andiss Music publisher page on Sheet Music Plus. There you will find two works for clarinet quartet in a rock style - Flash, an original composition great as a concert opener or encore, and Frankenstein, a fun but challenging arrangement of Edgar Winters rock instrumental classic. You also find a variety of other arrangements and original compositions for clarinet ensembles, flute ensembles, reed trio, and more - all ready for immediate download.

Thank you for visiting!
