Andrew Grenci performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and large ensemble player in the USA and around the world. In 2005, he appeared as a recitalist and panelist at the first World Bass Clarinet Convention in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He has soloed on bass clarinet and basset horn with the U.S. Coast Guard Band, and on clarinet with the Waterbury and Meriden Symphony Orchestras. As a chamber musician, he performed at International Clarinet Association conferences in Lubbock, New Orleans, and Austin, and at the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles conference in Chiayi City, Taiwan. Grenci held the bass clarinet chair in the U.S. Coast Guard Band from 1995 to 2018. In addition, he is often heard in the clarinet sections of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, and other Connecticut ensembles.
Also a composer and arranger, he premiered his new solo composition for bass clarinet and band, "Concerto in Rock," in July 2014. He also recently created several unique arrangements of Holiday Classics released on the album, "The Grenci Stole Christmas!"
Dr. Grenci earned his DMA at SUNY at Stony Brook, and is Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at Western Connecticut State University.
